Cute Skirt for a Cute Sister

So, it all started with a party invitation. As a fashion student, the first thing I thought about was what I was going to wear. Keiko told me to keep practicing my sewing, so I decided to make a denim skirt. I picked up a pattern and fabric and got to work. I'm not at the level to alter patterns yet, and the skirt didn't end up fitting me. However, it did fit my younger, but much taller sister. She really knows how to pose for the camera...
Don't you just love skirts and dresses with pockets? I do!!!!!

I had enough fabric to construct another skirt, and I did, but something wasn't quite right about it in the zipper. It was a good attempt for my second time though. My mother told me that the skill of a seamstress can be determined by how well the zipper is sewn into the garment. I need lots of practice...

Same Outfit Everyday

Work work work. It seems like this summer is going to be all work and no play. I'm working 50 hours a week, and I haven't had any time to put any outfits together for the summer. The only outfit I've been wearing is my Photopass costume... I hope nobody recognizes me...
However, with a Saturday off, I was able to make this adorable bag. I got the fabric from Kashi's some time ago and I picked up the flower on a deep discount. I love scoring a good deal!
Work isn't all that bad. I'm having a grand time. See? Look at how happy I am standing in front of the castle! Here is a picture of me at work, creating magic. Thank you taking this awesome photo Ryan Dimal!!!!!

This Just In!

I wanted to share with you a skirt that I made in May! My lovely friend Christina just sent me pictures of the outfit she put together. I also made the same style skirt in a brown jersey. It is a simple rectangle skirt with an elastic waistband. Christina really made it her own with the belt and high heels! Way to go, Christina! You look awesome!

Here is a close-up of the print. Christina and I went to the fabric store together, and this is what she chose!

I would have like to included the 2 other skirts that I made in May, but I am still waiting for them from my friend--ahem-- (LINDSAY)
